Vacation at the Beach...!!!!

For my birthday this year we took a trip north, up the coast.... First we stayed at a hotel in Capenteria.... for 3 days.... After that we headed more up north and stayed at a hotel in Pismo Beach... for 4 days... It has been a really fun 13th birthday... everybody is enjoying the beach and getting a nice tan...

As you can see even vacation cant tear them apart..... )~: aaaaaaahhhh

Wilcox Family Trend....

Deanna got braces too! She had hers put on on May 29th. So far she HATES them. She also has a RPE (Rapid palate expander) and that is causing her the most pain. The RPE is supposed to be turned every morning and evening, but so far it's only been done a couple of times.

Instead of the plain boring silver braces Deanna chose to have purple and blue rubber bands attached to her braces.

Boobs and Brookelyn (a continuing theme)

California is liberal in many ways, including Brookelyn almost getting her eye poked out as she tries to enjoy some ice cream at the Wharf in Santa Barbara.

Silver for your 13 Year Old Birthday

As Alison approaches that milestone age of 13 and mom and dad stock up on hair dye to hide those sure to come grey hairs, Ali received a special birthday present this year in the form of "braces".

Braces are a lot different than when I was growing up, now instead of the "high-roller" silver which seems to be limited now to those that want more "bling-bling", Ali is sporting a rainbow smile of pinks, greens and blues. Welcome to the teen-age years Ali!!

Deanna's Last day of 5th Grade

Today was Deanna's official last day of 5th grade. She got straight A's for the last trimester of the year. She had an awards assembly yesterday and got 4 awards. One was for being a memeber of CyberCorps, one was for getting in the 90th percentile on the Iowa, one was for getting in the 90th percentile in Math Olympiads, and the last one was the President's Award. In order to get the President's award she had to have scored in the 98th percentile on the Iowa, have an A- average, and a 4 on the end of year CRTs. We are so proud of her!

Sibling Rivalry

A child will mimic those around them, especially those they look up to. Brooke, I think got a little jealous when Ali had some pictures featured on a photographers website linked here. So she did what she could to see if she could make it on the website herself.

We all made it down safely without any problems!! We even received a flight certificate!

At 6:30 am on May 19Th. Jared and I and his sister Mona and a couple of our friends went on a Hot Air balloon ride in Heber. What a amazing thing!! The kids were really to sleepy to care what we were doing, except for Brit she was right there watching them get the Balloon ready and sending us off!

My New Kitten

Now the real owner of Midnight is going to talk about him.
As my mom already said his brothers (Wonder, Moonlight and Cudle-Bug) and sister (Bambi) were hogging his mom and not letting him eat. From the beggining he was the runt of the litter and beacuse of his brothers and sisters he was loosing alot of weight really fast.
My mom already told you the rest of the story so I'm gonna talk about the funny stuff that has happened the past couple of days.
The first day we had him we were always cuddling him and trying to make him feel comfrable and all he wanted to do was play with us! When we were trying to feed him, and he was playing with the bottle! The next day he fell in his water bowl! It was so cute. He also just got the nickname "Black Kangaroo." I gave the name to him because ealrier today i was playing with him, andf he jumped 2 or 3 feet into the air!
I would add pictures, but the ones my mom took are the only ones we have.

Deanna's New Kitty

This is Deanna with her new kitten, Midnight. He is six weeks old. We got him on Wednesday. She got him from her friend Natasha. She has been going over to Natasha's house every few days to check on the kittens. She went over there on Tuesday after school and when I came by to pick her up, Natasha's mom said that his brothers and sisters weren't letting him eat anymore and he was starting to lose weight. So she asked if we were ready to take him home with us. I was a little surprised by that, but I told her we'd pick him up on Wednesday. We took him to the vet today and he's only .6 pounds. The lady at the vet's office wasn't even sure he'd register on the scale!

The Tree House

There is a new place we went to visit in Ogden called the Tree House. It was quite fun and interesting and the kids had a good time. It had very creative activities with all of the different things with dress-up clothes to go along with it.

Slow Times on the Overleaf Misfire

Things have slowed down here on The Overleaf Misfire, I guess the newnews and oddity have warn off. Maybe we can pick it up a bit again as something must be going on. Did anyone ever figure out the significance of the blog title?

I would post more baseball pictures but there haven't been any comments on those I posted. I did just convernt some videos from the football season to Youtube so that it wouldn't take up time on the league website (http://www.menifeewildcatsjaaf.com) . So I will link that here, I could post some picks of Rome, Delhi and Kathmandu but I never have found a picture that I liked of myself, ever.

Bowling

Last Thursday I decided that I wanted to get out of the house and do something fun with the girls. I looked in my Utah Mama's Handbook and decided that bowling would be it. So I called Tiffany to see if she wanted to come along. She wasn't feeling well, but Grandma agreed to bring Kylie and Brittney with us. We had pizza, soda, and breadsticks to eat. The pizza was great, but the never order onion rings from FatCats. According to the manager, the only way they can make them makes them really burned. Anyway, here are the pictures I took of all the fun we had. Apparently I didn't get any of Kylie actually bowling, but I did get pictures of her eating, LOL!!

Up With Kids

My mom told me to post something so i'm gonna post about this fun thing called Up With Kids. Up With Kids is an acting thing were every year we do a play. Last year's play was Shrek 2 3/4. Here arwe some pic.'s of it:

This year we're doing High School Musical, but not compleatly like the movie. We already have our parts! I'm the Student Body President, and B'Elana is the car from the movie Cars Sally and a kindergarden kid. I'll tell you when the show's are, when I know all i know is they are in May. Here are some more shots of the kids that we haven't posted yet. As you can see AJ and Payton are busy at work last fall (covering Ty with leaves).








This is AJ just a couple weeks ago with one of the fish he caught. This was a nice 18 inch rainbow that he caught by himself. Of course my new underwater camera helped.



We are trying to potty train Ty. He seems to be catching on quickly. he has an assortment of reading material within reach of his Go Diego Go throne.

Payton is always to offer a helping hand (or whatever it takes...)


Some of the residents just North of us... Grandpa got to see some of these last December. The one being lazy is the biggest in the group. They are quite fun to watch.


Also, for those of you who don't know. I have a race here in Vernal in June that I am putting together. This is big and any of you who would like to help, please let me know. I will need in the neighborhood of 100 volunteers. The date is June 23rd. The night before and the morning of the 23rd is when I would need the help. We are planning on about 500-750 racers. It is a triathlon so we will be all over the valley out here.That's all for now. AJ and Payton are here with me and say hi to everyone. More photos later...
