Thank you Grandpa Slagle

Memorial Day 2010, a time to remember all those that have served, and given so much for all of us, and a time to remember a special someone as well in our lives.  We love him and miss him.

Here's a link to the day in 2007 when he was honored, by the University of Utah.

Lions and Tigers...or a pretty bird

TD called it a Cockatrice, Brooke calls it a Cockatood, from my childhood watching Baretta I know it to be a Cockatoo, and sure enough we have one in the backyard.

It has been there for a couple of days, going from tree to tree and snacking on whatever the kids, and neighborhood kids decide to give it. Someone must be out a Cockatoo, but we haven't heard of one missing, but then who do you call for a missing Cockatoo.

It's starting to feel at home after only 2 days, as now TD can pet it and feed it by hand.

For the record TD, if you are reading this. You can click here to see what a Cockatrice looks like.

Odd Jobs and Scout Camp

The boys have done a fine job the past few months earning money for scout camp this summer. TD will be doing a horseback riding trip in Southern Utah and Chase will be attending a BSA Camp in Southern California.

They passed out the below flyers to friends and neighbors and have worked hard to earn the money. Not too much complaining, and I guess the hope is that the hard work and helping pay for it themselves will go a long way to teach them some life lessons.

What you don't see here is that this was the 2nd draft of the flyer. The first draft had them called "The Knuckleheads". But THE MOM said that with that title and the way they were goofing around in the inset pictures, it would make it so that nobody would hire them. I wanted to do a market test and see, but after 18 years of marriage I am finally learning not to cross THE MOM.
